DaNesha Telfair was born in St. Louis, Missouri in 1996. At 4 years of age, DaNesha moved to East St. Louis, Illinois, just on the other side of the Mississippi River. DaNesha attended East St. Louis Senior High School. She graduated with a 3.6 GPA and #6 in her class. DaNesha now attends Northern Illinois University. She initially majored in Graphic design, but switched her major after a year and a half to Computer Science. DaNesha's emphasis is Software Development and she is also striving for a Mobile Programming Certificate. DaNesha hopes to create the next big game or mobile application. DaNesha has not had the opportunity to take coding classes before attending college, but drawing and designing was a big hobby that she enjoyed. DaNesha may not have much experience in her career field, but she has experience with leadership. DaNesha was the captain/section leader of the East St. Louis Senior High School drum line during 2014, her senior year. She led the drum line, as well as, the rest of the band during parades, competitions, pep rallies, and more. She taught fellow drum line members how to read, write, and play the musical pieces. Since attending N.I.U., DaNesha has joined the N.I.U. Women's Rugby Club. She hopes to become captain or a member of the executive board for the team during the 2017 - 2018 school year. She attended the National All Stars Competition during her first semester on the the team. DaNesha has a couple more years of college left and wants to continue to play rugby and get her computer science degree. She already has ideas on games and applications she wants to bring about to the world. Her ultimate mission is to help people use technology to its full potential by creating games/applications that can be useful and entertaining and that every individual can use, no matter the disability.
